Mirror Image

We've had so many people comment on how much Bradley looks like his biggest brother, that we thought we'd do a comparison.

The picture below on the left is Bradley, taken last year. The picture on the right is his brother, Nathanial, taken in 1991 when he was around the same age.

Question:
So what did we learn from this exercise?

Answer:
Apparently Bonds blue-and-white striped hoodies never go out of fashion!

In case you were wondering just exactly what it is that Bradley gets up to on his journeys down the driveway...

Colour Me Happy

There's been a couple of sewing creations that I've been wanting to share for a while, however I needed to hold off until they made their way to their new home.

Anyway, I finally dragged myself down to the post office and sent these off to the lovely Mel over at Beetlebums, so I can now share them with you!

These were made for her little girl, who loves rainbows and orange, so I had a lot of fun with these bright and happy creations.

Nothing like a bit of colour to brighten your day!

Just a little dinner party...

A few weeks ago, there was a dinner party here at the Henhouse.

You see, earlier this year, MoederKip went on a strike in the kitchen.  And so Paul stepped in and took over for a while.

And as it turns out, he discovered that he not only enjoys cooking, but he's also actually quite good at it!

And so this was the menu we were treated to on the night...

Hors D’ourves
Antipasto (olives, artichoke, fetta, roast capsicum, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms)
Champagne
Entrée
Beetroot & pear salad with beef or haloumi strips on a bed of baby spinach leaves with apple balsamic dressing
Pinot Grigio or Moscato
Cleanser
Home Made Lemon Sorbet
Main Course
Chicken breast or mushrooms in sauterne sauce stuffed with truffle oil, walnut and camembert served on a bed of pumpkin, sweet potato & parmesan mash
Roast hasselback potatoes
Carrot & Bean parcel with honey
Lemon broccolini
Riesling or Shiraz
Dessert
Bombe Alaska with fresh raspberries and slivered almonds
Tokay
Afters
Cheese platter
Chocolates
Coffee or tea and Liqueurs

Now that's what I call a dinner party!

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, we were so busy eating and drinking and enjoying each other's company, that we forgot to take any photos.  So tonight we just had to make another Bombe Alaska for demonstration purposes.  Yum......
